The Department of Corrections is seeking candidates for a Corrections Vocational Instructor. Our ultimate mission is to prepare inmates to return to society as contributing, law-abiding citizens. We understand that the best program to accomplish that goal is the example we set while inmates are under our supervision. We are committed to providing an opportunity for all inmates to become productive citizens when they leave.
The Corrections Vocational Instructor plays a vital role in the mission through providing assessment and targeted vocational instructional services to offenders.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with an associate's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three (3) years of trade-related experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for up to two (2) years of the trade-related experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in a classroom / shop setting within a correctional institution.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
